Christmas is the season of merriment and love. This festival commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ. People around the world decorate trees with ornaments & lights representing the colours, symbols events of the celebration. Among Christians, the Christmas tree was thought to symbolize eternal life in Jesus Christ. It is decorated with fruits, flowers, lights, candies, chocolates, pastries, toys, glass & plastic beads – artefacts, clay models, etc. This festival is all about the togetherness of our loved ones and cherishing positiveness & harmony.
Trees are significant in many of the world’s mythologies and have been given deep and sacred meanings throughout the ages. In Hinduism, Buddhism & Christianity, trees are worshipped & are often said to be the homes of tree spirits.
It is installed on the eve of Christmas i.e. 24th December and has to be retained for at least 12 nights so on.
However, in modern era Christmas tree has become a commercial entity by producing artificial trees made of PVC, which is highly hazardous to our Ecosystem. It has tremendous spiritual values with a lot of mythological connections based on several stories from around the world (esp. Europe). In some texts, it is even called as ” tree of Paradise”.
Most prominent or on the top of this tree it is highly essential to place ” angel Gabriel or star of Bethlehem”, who is mainly responsible for the cleaning off negative energy or forces.
