Best Direction For Study Room and Study Table
The study room should be built in the west, northwest, and/or west of the southwest.
Ideally there should be a lot of open space in front of the study table. It helps in increasing concentration.
Face east or north while studying as the cosmic energy waves emanating from these directions are beneficial in stimulating the chakras. These waves enter our body through the Sahasrara Chakra, helping in better concentration.
In many homes these days, the study table is small and mostly attached to the wall. The presence of a wall in front of the study table is not good.
An extended cupboard (and adjacent study table) from the wall produces energy fields, which put pressure on the child’s concentration while studying.
Such an arrangement should be completely avoided. The table can be placed near the wall but one should ensure that the cupboard is not extended from the wall.
You can make the study room or space lively, clean and neat. It is beneficial to keep a plastic, copper, or crystal pyramid on the study table, along with a picture of Goddess Saraswati or a yantra to enhance concentration on the opposite wall.
One can also keep a picture or idol of Lord Ganesha. For people belonging to other religions, one can use images or scripts as a symbol of their faith.
Sitting in the southwest and facing the north-east while studying is ideal. The front north-east should be empty. Make sure the back gets solid support.
Do not sit on top of a beam or protruding cupboard while studying. This can cause energy pressure and hamper concentration.
If the study room is in the northeast, it is highly beneficial to have a wall in the same direction. If the window is near a crowded road, then facing north or east is beneficial as an alternative.
If one is unable to concentrate while sitting in the north-west, change the location.
Facing any direction other than the north-east may lead to going through a struggle of more effort and less success.
Internal defects in the north-east direction, (if any), can be corrected using remedial measures.
Colors according to Vastu for your study room Use light/neutral colors for better concentration.
Ideal colors for a study room:
Green
2. Light green
3. Pastel blue
4. Cream
5. White
All these colors have a calming effect on the mind, leading to concentration. The use of dark tones should be avoided. Subtle colours also enhance and reflect the natural light entering the room, increasing positivity and clarity. This is essential in the process of studying or learning a subject.
