Plants And Vastushastra

Planting trees is essential to maintain the balance of nature. In every house even if four plants are grown in small pots, the city will have eighty lakh plants which can minimize the air pollution to a certain extent.This explains the natural and social perspective of the necessity of planting trees. Vastushastra has prescribed various guidelines regarding the plants which can be grown and those which are to be avoided within vastu.Vastushastra has also taken into consideration the effect of colours, thorns, oxygen emission levels of various plants and the norms have accordingly been prescribed.

Only small shrubs, flowering bushes, lawn should be put in the North-East region. Medium size trees can be planted in North-West and South-East. Large trees should be in South-West as this side becomes heavy and the vastu is shielded from the rays of setting sun. Thorny plants, Lime, Orange, Jackfruit, Banana, Papaya, Tamarind, Imlica, Jujube, Drumstick, Tamarind, Milky plants, Cactus and Bonsai plants should not be planted.

Creepers should be in South and West but they should not be thorny. Among thorny bushes only Rose and Aloevera can be planted. There should not be any large tree in the core centre also there should not be any tree in front of the main entrance. All spices and chillies can be planted in South-East region. Tulsi (Sacred Basil), Neem, Jasmine, Lily, Marigold, Daisy and Shoe flower should be planted in good numbers.
